Kyosanim Tyler Porter
- September 2000 – Began martial arts training at age 6 with Sabumnim Laura Richmond 5th degree black belt in the United States Dragons Tong Karate Academy – training 1 day a week
- April 2001 – Began competition on school team – “Team Dragon” in local tournaments and the American Karate Association circuit
- 2002 – Continued competition in local circuit as well as nearby states – including Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio – competed monthly in tournaments
- 2003 – Continued competition mentioned above as well as additional states – Michigan and Pennsylvania – moved training from Sabumnim Laura Richmond 1 day per week to Dr. Kwanjanim Fred Richmond 7th degree black belt 2 days per week at school main location – competed monthly in tournaments
- 2004 – Continued competition – created musical form for competition, competed monthly in tournaments
- 2005 – Training increased to 3-4 days per week and assisted in teaching younger students, competed monthly in tournaments
- 2006 – Received Junior Black Belt at age 12 under Dr. Kwanjanim Fred Richmond – in addition to training and competition, responsible for more teaching at various levels and ages under supervision, competed monthly in tournaments, added gymnastics classes to enhance extreme katas.
- 2007 – Auditioned for and joined “Team Sidekick” under direction of John Chung
